Being able to cleanse not just physically but also mentally is almost every individual’s objective in life.  Detoxification is the procedure that conventional and modern medicine has recommended.  It cleanses away toxins in the body and makes you revitalized and energized.  There are several ways on how to detox.  Some of those are naturally done and some uses medical intervention.

On the contrary, detox can cause discomfort and inconvenience.  For people who are always on the go, detox for 3 – 5 days is such a hassle.  The good thing is that, there is gentle detox.  It is a detoxification method which is less painful and less discomfort.  It is gentle and can be a part of your daily routine.

Change of Lifetyle

  • Diet – everything that you take in has a great impact to your health.  Start your gentle detox by changing the contents of your diet.  Eat the right kind of food.  Drink what is best for your health.  A diet that is highly rich in fiber is a good way to clean your system.  Fast foods contain substances that are very harmful to the health.   Therefore, replace it with fruits, vegetables, grains, puree and smoothies.
  • Treat yourself with saunas – Saunas make you sweat gently and leisurely.
  • Exercise – start your day with a 20 – minute brisk walk around the block.  At the same time that you are detoxifying you are able to enjoy your surroundings and probably get a chance to talk with a neighbor or meet a new friend.  It is not recommended though that you go to excessive workouts immediately.  Do it gradually to avoid pain and discomfort.
  • Yoga – it is the gentlest way to detox.   It relaxes not just your physical aspect but also your mental and spiritual sides.  It stimulates all the system at the same time.  More important, the regular classes motivate you and encourage you to live a healthy and balanced life.

  • Do away from the detoxification method that you have used before.  Start detoxifying gently and gradually when it comes to your diet.  Try eating the vegetables blanched first and not raw.  Never use oil in any form like butter or margarine.  Blanch it with a pinch of salt to give it a taste.  One way to cleanse gently is by designating a low-stress weekend and eating nothing but fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains, preferably organic.  You can incorporate it with puree or smoothies.
  • Finally, take note that there are so many ways wherein that you can start to live a healthy and balanced life.  Take for example, if you are a coffee drinker, try replacing it with green herbal tea.  Start reducing the amount of toxins that you take in at home, in the office and from your  surroundings.  Aside from the food we eat and the beverages available, check out the cosmetics and the personal products you use.

There is no stopping you if you want to undergo intensive detox.  That is your choice and your prerogative.  Meanwhile, do not forget as well to consult your doctor before making any drastic moves.
